Eleven, Years Later and Stranger Things Season 2
The release of Stranger Things Season 2 has provided some extra exposure to my spinoff series, Eleven Years Later. These episodes put an adult Eleven in a world where people are unimpressed with her powers, and her lack of schooling and socializing puts her at a disadvantage in the working world. She’ll do whatever it takes to achieve her goal of winning Mike Wheeler back. It’s basically Stranger Things meets Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.
I didn’t have the story arc set when making the first episode. The “we could use a janitor” line wasn’t in the script, and was added while shooting. Coincidentally I had a blue jumpsuit collecting dust in storage, along with other props. It was purchased for a different sketch and never used. Things sort of fell into place for the second episode when I was able to locate the trash can dolly used by the custodian at my workplace (where the episodes are filmed).
I’m enjoying reading all the YouTube comments, including a few accusing me of spoiling the Season 2 snowball dance. The “it happens in season 2” line delivered by Alex was a lucky guess. My episode was uploaded 8 months before the release of Season 2.
I’m hoping to crank out a few more installments and continue this strange love triangle with more ’90s references, special effects, and characters making predictions about future seasons of Stranger Things. I wrote a third episode and realized it was a bit too long so I broke it into two smaller episodes. I’m currently looking for an adult Dustin Henderson for episode 3, which probably won’t be an easy role to cast. If you’re a twenty something Dustin, contact me!
My goal is to get a third episode up in December, and a fourth by March. I also plan to release an original short film on the channel in February or March. It’s about a superhero, and I spent more time on it than any other project. More details soon.
